The Spiritual Journey to The Land Within

THE SPIRITUAL JOURNEY TO THE LAND WITHIN "If an [individual] devotes himself/herself to the instructions of his/her own unconscious, it can bestow this gift [of renewal], so that suddenly life, which has been stale and dull, turns into a rich unending inner adventure, full of creative possibilities" (Von Franz). Recognizing and accepting that, in each of us, there is another whom we do not know (Jung), is humbling to our ego. Furthermore, the ego is reluctant to share its authority and it refuses to follow the wisdom of the inner life. A methodical and gradual study of the spontaneous imaginal products of this interior life (dreams, fantasies, visions, etc) reveals another intelligence -the Divine within- that seeks to guide our fragile and limited consciousness. If we assiduously consult this inner life, diligently search for the meaning of its inner images, and tenaciously incorporate its messages into our daily life, then, we will understand with our heart and body (not just intellectually!) why such journey has been described as 'a rich unending inner adventure, full of creative possibilities.'
